In the private sector, she held senior executive positions at Postobón and in the offices of Organización Ardila Lülle as Director of Regulatory and Corporate Affairs; at Coltabaco–Philip Morris International as Government Affairs Manager; and in the United States, at the customs and trade law firm Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, where she served as Director for Latin America and the Caribbean during the FTA negotiations with CAFTA-DR, Colombia, and Panama. Additionally, she worked with Chemonics International on stabilization and support programs for vulnerable communities, and as advisor to the Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS).
