U.S. lawmakers reintroduce bill to strengthen measures against unfair trade practices

A group of US congressmen has reintroduced the bill "Leveling the Playing Field 2.0 Act”, with the objective of Update trade remedies laws and address unfair trade practices, including repeat offenders and state subsidies from China, especially through Beijing's Belt and Road Initiative.

The bill Establishes a process for successive investigations, allowing companies to file antidumping and subsidy cases more easily when the production of similar goods moves to another country. It also introduces new criteria for the International Trade Commission to analyze the relationship between recent trade cases and previous ones.
